First, there is nothing new in this method of putting enemies to death in the region of Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran, Saudi Arabia and other countries and regions in that part of the world. Scriptures in the Old Testament record many incidents where notable people and others were beheaded. Following are a few of the texts that tell of these beheadings.
1 Samuel 31:8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his three sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
9 And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and among the people.
1 Samuel 17:51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith.
Jesus in teaching his disciples about things to come warned them of persecution to come. The apostles knew that it was not going to end well with them and yet they pursued the preaching of the Gospel of Christ. And, they lived what they preached. John the Baptist was the first recorded event of a beheading in Jesus’ time. Herod had promised to give the daughter of Herodias the half of the kingdom after she danced and pleased him. She, at her mother’s prompting, requested the head of John the Baptist who was in prison at the time.
Matthew 14:10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
Luke 9:9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
Now Jesus, as we said, had warned his followers that they would be hauled before authorities and accused of blasphemy which called for their death.Matthew 10 King James Version (KJV)17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
The reason Jesus warned his followers of the dangers is He knew that the ones who served Satan hated him. It had been illustrated time and again. He states that in the book of John.
John 15:18 If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you; the servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
But because the Bible is true and reveals what God has said it tells in the book of Revelation what happens to those who hate him and those who have killed and beheaded those who love the Lord and gave their lives because they would not disavow or deny Him. That is what the Islams demand of the Christians in that ungodly region of the world and why they kill and behead them when they will not deny their faith. They kill men, women, (after they rape them) children and babies of those families.
I might state here what cowards these killers are because they kill defenseless people. Chris Kyle, the American Sniper, wrote that in order to muster up their courage, the people he fought and killed had been doped up on drugs to get courage to face the Americans. In other words they were not the fearless worriers of Allah they claim to be.
Now, what does the Book of Revelation reveal about these people who have given up their lives for their faith? You have to know the torture and pain they went through to stand for their Lord. What happens to them after they are departed from their bodies? That is revealed in the letter that Paul the Apostle had written to the Corinthians.
2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight :)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Where then do these saints show up later? In the Book of Revelation it is given.
Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, how long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
You see now, these slain Christians have not gone away but stand before God in Heaven in the Throne Room and plead for justice. God asks for patience for judgment is coming.
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Now, what happens to those who have so cruelly killed these saints? In Heaven there has to be justice and it is coming in the most terrible way. For we know that those who do not claim Christ as Savior will stand before God in Judgment and will received the sentence they deserve for denying Christ the Son of God.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
So we know now the end of those who trust and love Christ and the end of those who reject Him and whose names are not written in the book of life. So be it.
